This years "Taste" will include the following bands:
Swing-a-Cat - a trio of talented women singing jazz and playing jazz in three part harmony. We love the music from the 30s and 40s, right now we’re enamored of the Boswell Sisters. But we’ll sing anything that suits us.
Dark Hollow Bottling Company - The music of Dark Hollow Bottling Company can be loosely classified as Americana; fusing bluegrass, rockabilly, folk, rock and pop music. They are a living example of the American melting pot. A journey along a road of our collective culture.
Sly Chi - There's funk, soul, a little R&B - all with an underlying jazzy edge. Throw in the classic rock and you're pleasantly confused. The group has horns, 4 singers, and a super-tight rhythm section. They pack dance floors like the bands they're often compared to - Earth, Wind & Fire, Tower of Power, BrandNew Heavies. They were voted Best Live Act and Best R&B Act in the 2004 Portland Phoenix Best Music Poll, followed by Best R&B Act in 2005 and 2006.
